引述 :『2007-11-16 15:48／張佳琪 「二氧化碳監控行動」資料庫網站公佈的資料，我國的台中火力發電廠二氧化碳排放量居全球第一，環保團體罵翻了，但台電不可能因此調整台中火力發電廠的機組運轉狀況，降低排放量，因為台中火力發電廠的發電量，足足占了台電總發電量的五分之一，一旦調整運轉，全台會有很多地方無電可用。 台電也喊冤，如果以每發一度電燃媒來估算，台中電廠並不是最高的，發電效率真的很不錯。 （張佳琪報導） 台中火力發電廠二氧化碳排放量居全球第一，台電方面很緊張，但又不能因為這樣調整台中電廠的發電機組，因為全台灣五分之一的電力供應，都靠台中電廠，如果部分機組因為二氧化碳排放量問題而停止運轉，將會產生相當大的電力供給缺口，造成民眾生活的不方便。 台電方面表示，如果把幾部機組移到別的電廠，的確可以降低台中電廠二氧化碳排放量，但機組移過去的那個電廠，二氧化碳排放量也會增加，更何況，台中電廠每發一度電使用的燃媒量是0.92公斤，和網站資料點名的其他電廠相比較，是最低的，以發電效率來說，台中電廠效率不錯。 台電方面表示，在政府非核家園的政策之下，目前只能以不斷更新台中電廠的環保設施的方式，來補救二氧化碳排放量的問題。 』

引述 :『工總常務監事、豐興鋼鐵董事長林明儒上午主持「產業溫室氣體減量成果發表會」時，公開為企業界叫屈。他指出，台灣真正製造溫室氣體排放污染的「最大烏賊」，不是產業界，而是台灣電力公司。官方數字顯示，台電的溫室氣體排放比重高達57.6%，工業部門只有21.9%，但沒人苛責台電，卻將所有責任歸罪給工業界，等於是讓工業界為台電背了大黑鍋，真正問題出在「非核家園」的意識形態。』
