On November 10, 1999, Lynn Conway underwent facial feminization surgery (FFS). The 10 hour operation was performed by Douglas Ousterhout, M.D., D.D.S., at the Davies Campus of the California-Pacific Medical Center in San Francisco. Doug Ousterhout is the surgeon who pioneered this highly aggressive form of facial-bone reconstructive surgery for transsexual women.
