本書作者 Michael Mahemoff 在 2004 年底開始在他的部落格裡發表 Ajax 相關文章，找尋人們在開發 Ajax 相關應用上所遇到的問題，然後替這些問題整理出最佳的解決方案。由於內容豐富且符合大多數人的需求，部落格名聲大噪，於是 Michael 在 2005 年 5 月成立了 Ajaxpatterns.org 網站，把他們整理好的這些 patterns 集中於這個網站上，供大家查詢參考。也於 2006 年將網站上的 70 個 patterns 集結成書。
