The book itself is fairly mediocre, although the quality of the audio on the CD recordings is excellent (male/female speakers of what sounds to me like "northern Taiwanese" to my untrained ear). The authors consistently use Romanization, but not the POJ (peh-oe-ji) system we are learning in class.
