Causes Reports On Its First Year - $2.5 Million For 20,000 Charities And NonProfits - washingtonpost 
Causes, a Facebook and MySpace application that promotes viral donations of time and money to charities and nonprofits, launched a year ago. They've now released statistics today on their usage and donation numbers for that first year. The company says they've registered 12 million users who are now supporting more than 80,000 non-profit causes worldwide. $2.5 million has been raised for 19,445 different 501(c)(3) charitable organizations. Facebook reports 60,000 daily users of the application, and MySpace reports 25,000.

既然有人樂於討好線上遊戲玩家的輸入需求，OpenVanilla 團隊也樂於解套。而 OpenVanilla 專案接下來的發展方向會是：將合作過程中所發展出的改進，回饋到 OpenVanilla 的核心架構，在輸入法模組方面，重心不再會是自行發展、維護一堆模組，或許也會停止一些不應該繼續支援的模組，而是會投入更多心力，關心怎樣可以讓更多人更輕易的發展輸入法，照顧到更多到了 2008 年還沒被顧及的語言輸入需求，首先要開始的，就是前述的英文（不可否認，英文還是這年頭真正的世界語）文件工作。而之後的 OpenVanilla 釋出套件，也會與過去的發佈方式有所不同，你會看到的不會是一套像是輸入法產品的東西，而會像是一套剛裝好的新版 apache，陽春，但是更為穩定與強大，更具有新的可能。

這幾天常在一些部落格看到BlogAD廣告(是否也是Spam？請看這篇)隨機出現刊登Pollster的廣告，利用大家加入會員可抽獎得到Wii遊戲主機來吸引人潮，表面是一般正常經營的網站，暗地裡卻大肆濫發垃圾信，反正Spam 2.0早已默默進軍部落格、共享書籤等網站。最神奇的是，很多人都非常討厭這種垃圾信發信商，痛罵為什麼常收到一堆垃圾信，也討厭一堆垃圾留言留在自己的部落格，卻又在自己的部落格為這些垃圾信發信商做廣告連結，是因為有特別的利益還是你們就是該公司的工作人員？假設BlogAD本身不是Spam，但這些垃圾信發信商可以花點錢在BlogAD刊登廣告，吸引大家加入會員，收集大家的郵件名單，甚至是個人隱私資料，這筆資料拿來販賣或發垃圾信，對他們來說可是非常好用。利用廣告做廣告(Spam)，算是掩人耳目的另一種手法。
